While on the Mentoring program, Real Wealth Australia taught us the concept of dual occupancy properties. We applied this teaching while considering the properties and within one year were also able to build a granny flat at one of the properties. Had it not been for Real Wealth Australia we would not have had the ability or knowledge to do the same for the second property we purchased while on the Mentoring Program.

We did not have any investment properties to begin with. Real Wealth Australia gave us the tools to ensure our due diligence matched our strategy when building our property portfolio. The Property Mentors supported us throughout the process from start to settlement and answered all our queries. The knowledge provided through the Real Wealth Australia Mentoring program enabled us to make a step by step approach in selecting our target suburbs for investment. There were big learnings with this investment, our first property we have bought together. Real Wealth Australia Property Mentors were a fantastic sounding board as we put the principles learnt from the Mentoring Program into practice. The Property Mentors also brought up queries we needed to address. They were right there to encourage us to start our investment portfolio.

This was our second purchase in regional NSW and the buying process was challenging. The property had been extensively renovated, however, the vendors had not followed the council procedures and we found out, after having our offer accepted, that the property did not have the appropriate certification. We could have walked away at that point, but we decided that the property was worth the extra effort required to see this through. We managed to get the vendors to foot the entire bill and the property received the building certificate after some modifications to meet council requirements. The process was stressful at times, and we appreciated the support and guidance of the Real Wealth Australia Property Mentors. Once again, the resources provided by the Real Wealth Australia Mentoring Program were extremely helpful in the due diligence stage to narrow our focus. We are ecstatic to now have a portfolio of five investment properties spread across four states! If it wasn't for Real Wealth Australia, we would still be dreaming about hopefully retiring one day on our superannuation. Instead, we are well on the way to achieving our goal of an early retirement with financial security! Thanks, Helen and all the RWA team!

This is our fourth (and largest) investment since joining the Real Wealth Australia Mentoring Program. The biggest learning this time around was patience in the face of FOMO and having the courage to proceed when there is a lot of negative media around market movement. The property mentors provided critical, strategic and timely advice through the whole journey, in particular negotiating the right price in an uncertain market.

This was my first property development project. Demolishing and rebuilding of three townhouses!!! With time and experience comes learning and building the right team. During this process, I have dealt with both the good and the bad across different fields, but eventually, you will find the right people with the right mind frames for your team of experts. So as the sayings goes, you learn from your mistakes and the next time around things will run a lot more smoothly as you know what pitfalls to look for and avoid. Biggest issues I had with this project were consistently broken promises regarding time frames, leading to delays and the managing of costs and damages accordingly. Nevertheless, an worthwhile experience which will not stop me from my next project. P.S. as spoken with Marjo (property mentor), the property is now 90% completed with only final down payment to go.

We had no properties when we joined this program back in November 2016. We had a lot of savings but very low borrowing capacity. We did extreme due diligence during that time until we got our new tax returns (since we were self-employed). Real Wealth Australia helped us to remove a lot of our fears through teaching us how to select the right property, what to look for, how to contact real estate agents, what sort of insurance we need, etc. We spoke to the mentors regularly, especially when it came to purchase time. Real Wealth Australia helped me to achieve check in with the whole support team first - we didn't realize interest rates had moved so much, although our rate is higher than we thought it would be we still like the deal as the property provides the ability to be able to manufacture some equity through a cosmetic reno down the track - Lesson noted and learnt!

Following our many informative meetings with our mentors, we decided to purchase a cashflow positive property in Albury. It's the first one that we have bought in many years, but we hope to follow with a second purchase shortly. Be patient and look for a good opportunity (For example properties with development options). RWA helped me discussing the potentials of the development opportunities and built a confidence for purchase.

Location location location. The property I purchased with RWA mentoring is just 13 km's from the Melbourne CBD and walking distance from train station and major shopping Centre, and also positioned directly adjacent a hospital. After assessing the area for our first property in this area we went ahead asap with this one. Again, we have enjoyed 25% growth on this property. There is more than sufficient to proceed to the next one! RWA helped me by assisting to evaluate properties within a 15km radius of Melbourne. Ultimately, we questioned the location given Ford, the biggest local employer was closing. But we felt it was still the best decision given the booming Melbourne property market. Obviously, not everyone in the suburb worked at Ford, and not everyone that worked at the ford was a renter affected by its closure. We've enjoyed 25% (!!!) growth in the first 12 months. We couldn't be happier.
